St. Joseph Mercy Oakland’s Vestibular Rehabilitation Program can help individuals improve balance and safety, minimize falls, and decrease dizziness. The program consists of exercises and activities aimed at improving the function of the inner ear system responsible for your balance and visual stability. Common Diagnosis:
- Positional Vertigo
- Unilateral or bilateral vestibular hypofunction
- Neuropathy
- Post-operative and post-traumatic vestibular dysfunction
A comprehensive evaluation is combined with the most current technology specifically designed to meet the needs of each individual patient. A prescription from a physician/physician’s assistant is required to begin treatment. Our goal is to safely improve your level of function and reduce motion sensitivity. Patients often improve overall balance and walking ability, have a reduction in dizziness, fatigue and the anxiety related to their balance problem.
