Student volunteer services
Have you ever thought what it would be like to work in a hospital or just want
to learn more about a health care field? Become a student volunteer at
St. Joseph Mercy Oakland. When you volunteer here you will be able to explore
health care careers, keep up-to-date on the newest technology, get references
for resumes or college applications and have the satisfaction of helping
others.

All new student volunteers are asked to come in for an interview with Volunteer Services personnel. Every effort is made to match a new volunteer with an assignment that fits this or her skills, interests, and time commitment, as well as to departmental needs. Student volunteers must be at least 16 years old and presently in school. We ask that you volunteer 2-4 hours a week on the same day each week, for a total of at least 60 hours. Volunteer opportunities include:

- Urgent care
- Nursing stations
- Physical Therapy
- Radiology
- Pediatrics
- Children’s Learning Center
- Front Lobby
