Surgical Services
After the surgery or procedure
Inpatients will be admitted to an inpatient bed
after surgery. Outpatient surgicals, radiology and cardiac patients
may return to 2 West (on the hospital’s 2nd floor) and then be discharged
after appropriate recovery time.
Your doctor and/or the 2 West staff will give you written instructions for your postoperative care. Please follow them carefully.
You may feel sleepy or dizzy after your surgery or procedure even after your recovery on 2 West. Therefore, you must NOT drive yourself home. You must have a responsible adult with you to drive you home and stay with you through the night.
Once you are home, finish your recovery there. Plan to take it easy and follow your discharge instructions to promote a quick recovery.
Parking and directions
All surgical and procedure patients must check
in at 2 West on the second floor of the hospital. Please park in the
parking structure. 2 West is located in the main hospital. Take the
C elevators to the second floor. Make a right when you get out of the
elevator and come to the 2 West nurses station. Please let us know
anything we can do to make your brief stay more pleasant.
