St. Joseph Mercy Oakland (SJMO) is dedicated strongly to the noninvasive
practice of modern respiratory care, and actively provides respiratory
therapy, respiratory management techniques, diagnostic evaluation, home
medical equipment and continuing care, as directed by your physician or
surgeon, for patients with deficiencies and abnormalities affecting the
cardiopulmonary system and potentially affecting other body areas.
SJMO respiratory care specialists work to evaluate, treat and care for patients with breathing disorders, including chronic lung problems such as asthma and emphysema but also heart attack and accident victims, premature infants, and patients with cystic fibrosis, lung cancer and AIDS. SJMO is ready to help you or those you care about with the necessary therapies to counteract:

- Chronic obstructive lung disease.

Respiratory care practitioners
Our SJMO respiratory care practitioners are licensed
as respiratory therapists and/or as respiratory care technicians. Working
in conjunction with your primary care physician and or pulmonary specialists,
SJMO’s respiratory
care team can provide you with the necessary therapy and, where necessary,
home medical equipment such as portable oxygen tanks, to help facilitate
respiratory recovery and enhance your quality of life.
