St. Joseph Mercy Oakland's 26-bed Rehabilitation Unit team of specialized rehab professionals utilizes a comprehensive outcome-oriented program for patients with physical and neurological challenges.
SJMO's inpatient Rehabilitative program provides various forms of therapeutic care for patients seven days a week. Physicians and the entire team meet twice per week to discuss all aspects of care for each individual patient.
The rehab team is coordinated by the physiatrist, a physician specializing in physical medicine and can include:
- Nurses certified in Rehabilitation Nursing
- Physical Therapists
- Occupational Therapists
- Speech and Language Pathologists
- Social Workers
- Case Mangers
- Audiologist
- Dietician
- Pharmacist
- Pastoral Care Specialist
Family training sessions are encouraged. Family conferences are scheduled upon request.
