To Host Conference On Stroke
‘Innovations and Trends in Stroke Care’ Topic of Conference
Pontiac, Mich.—St. Joseph Mercy Oakland (SJMO)’s Michigan Stroke Network (MSN) will host its third annual CME conference Sept. 20 and 21, 2013, at the Crystal Mountain Resort and Spa, 12500 Crystal Mountain Dr., Thompsonville, MI 49683. Theme of the conference is “Innovations and Trends in Stroke Care.”
The two-day event will devote a portion of the program to the role of nurses in stroke care. Highlighting the forum will be a demonstration of an MSN remote robotic stroke consultation.
This educational conference is aimed at neurologists, neurosurgeons, Emergency physicians/nurses, medical first responders/Emergency medical technicians, advance practice/Neuroscience nurses, Internal Medicine practitioners, Family Medicine practitioners, General Practice physicians, hospitalists and allied health professionals.

Saturday—Symposium Open to All
Jack Weiner, SJMO President and CEO, and Alfred E. Pilong Jr., FACHE, President of Munson Medical Center, will deliver opening remarks on Saturday.
SJMO Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer Michael Smith, DO, will serve as master of ceremonies, direct the question-and-answer session and deliver closing remarks.
The two-day conference will include refreshments, a cocktail hour, networking and an opportunity to meet with vendors.
Physicians who attend the program will receive 5.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CME Credit(s) ™ for participating. Nurses who attend are eligible for three CME credits for the Sept. 20 events and 5.5 CME credits for Saturday’s activities.
Cost of the conference is $25 for nurses and allied health professionals for Friday only; $75 for nurses and allied health professionals for both days (includes cocktail reception); and $150 for physicians, and includes Friday events, cocktail reception, networking and Saturday symposium.
