St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Names New Senior Major Gifts Officer
Joseph A. Impellizzeri to Provide Leadership in Major Gift Activities
Pontiac, Mich.—St. Joseph Mercy Oakland (SJMO) has named Joseph A. Impellizzeri of Macomb, Mich., as its Senior Major Gift Officer in the Fund Development Department. He assumed his role on Feb. 22. He reports to Fund Development Co-Directors Megan Miller and James McLaughlin.
Impellizzeri will be responsible for providing leadership to all of the hospital’s major gifts activities, including transformational, major and planned gifts.
Prior to coming to SJMO, Impellizzeri was the Assistant Athletic Director for Development at Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., where he oversaw and directed a comprehensive fund-raising and alumni relations plan for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Previously, he was with the United Way for Southeastern Michigan, where he held the positions of Director of Capital Campaign and Initiative Funding, Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving and Associate Campaign Director-Leadership Gifts.
His other professional positions include Vice President for External Relations and Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Mich.; Fund Development Manager for the Detroit Police Athletic League and Annual Giving Officer at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Impellizzeri’s professional memberships include the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education and the Planned Giving Roundtable for Southeastern Michigan.
Impellizzeri earned a BA degree in history at Olivet College in Olivet, Mich., and an MA degree in Sports Management/Sports Marketing at Ohio State University.
