Our program provides screening, diagnosis, treatment, continuing care and ancillary support services.
Easy Access to Diagnosis
Our comprehensive women's imaging center was among the first in the state to receive prestigious designation as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR), indicating quality standards have been exceeded. Our imaging center offers dedicated breast radiologists and diagnostic services, including:
- Digital mammography
- Ultrasound
- Ultrasound-guided core biopsy
- Stereotactic core biopsy, a non-surgical method for detecting breast cancer that uses a special computer to guide a needle to abnormality seen on mammography to extract a small amount of the tissue for diagnosis
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Dedicated Breast Surgeons and Nurses
Surgery is an important component of breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Whether you are having a breast biopsy or more comprehensive treatment, SJMO offers a dedicated nurse navigator who will help direct you through the process. Our breast cancer nurse navigator acts as a personal advocate for our patients and assists both patients and their family members with their unique resource needs. Our nurse navigator guides patients through their cancer treatment journey, coordinates care, provides education about diagnosis and treatment options and offers support throughout cancer treatment.
