Our Mission
We serve together in Trinity Health in the spirit of the Gospel to heal the body, mind and spirit, to improve the health of our communities and to steward the resources entrusted to us.

The Center
Within the Center is a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgical facility comprised of six operating rooms and two minor procedure rooms. An eight bed overnight unit is available for those patients requiring an overnight stay after more complex procedures. Additionally, several other outpatient services are provided including: Mommography, Ultrasound, Radiology, Bone Densitometry and Pre-Admission Testing.

History
Ambulatory Surgery is an organized program in which patients are admitted and discharged on the same day of their surgery. Dating from the early 1970â€TMs, this concept has grown to encompass a broad spectrum of surgical patients undergoing many different procedures under all types of anesthetics.

Surgical Services
The Alice Gustafson Center offers outpatient surgical services in virtually all surgical specialties: Ear, Nose and Throat, Pediatric, and Adult General Surgery, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery, and Oral/Maxillofacial Surgery. Our progressive process and technologically advanced operating rooms feature the latest in design and equipment.

Patients and Staff
At The Alice Gustafson Center, we perform surgical procedures on patients from infants to adults. The Center is specifically designed with you, our patients, in mind. We are committed to providing safe, efficient, high quality and cost-effective care. All of the staff members have received additional training and education in the unique care of the ambulatory surgical patient. Ongoing educational opportunities and teamwork assure the highest level of competency.

Family Focus
Our waiting room is designed with a separate play area for children with television, books, toys and childoriented activities. Our adult patients enjoy the spacious waiting area with plenty of comfortable seating, reading material and a refreshment area. Our pre-operative and post-operative clinical areas were designed with a family-oriented focus. Family members are encouraged to be with their loved ones during their stay.

Surgical Stars Program
Our Surgical Stars Program assists the pediatric patient and their family in preparing for surgery. Pediatric tours are available every Wednesday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. The children view a video about their surgical experience, dress up in surgical clothing, tour an operating room and learn what to expect. This helps decrease a child's anxiety and provides the foundation for a positive experience.
